WIAA Has A Competitive Balance issue: My Reaction

The current state of the WIAA doesn't surprise me because the same thing is happening all over the country.  For example looks at Bishop Gorman. A Las Vegas private school with NFL caliber Facilities.http://www.maxpreps.com/news/article.aspx?articleid=2b2090c9-ad97-4aff-9c2b-7c8954ac71e8&page=5 How did they receive  these amenities you ask ? I will break it down for you.

What attracts the talent needed to win the big games ? Who has the most money ? if you answered private schools to both questions you are correct. I forget to mention that most states give private schools the ability to recruit in and out of state. At the end of the day sports are a business and it starts with High School athletes.

The High School sports business cycle is simple and effective. The High School recruits Division One caliber talent. The talent gives the school success. The success attracts donations from Wealthy Alumni. The wealthy alumni fund the program giving it an edge. The problem with the cycle is public school are unable to participate, because they lack money and the ability to recruit.

I think it's the medias job to raise awareness and help this problem. Major media outlet ESPN has stood in the private schools corner for far too long. The popular ESPN show Snoop and Son glorified private school Bishop Gorman. Gorman dominates in state opponents with it's pocket book and it's out of state recruits. If private school parents and ESPN won't listen to the other side who will ? Thats the million dollar question.

The Brewers Are Historically Awful: Don't Take My Word For It Read This Article.

If reading articles isn't your thing http://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/milwaukee-brewers-not-panicking-yet-after-first-2-10-start-in-team-history-041915 watch this video.

I could do a three paragraph rant article complaining about the teams play but that's already been done.  http://wisprtstalk.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-brewers-suck-why-blogging-about-bad.html. I'm going to insert this 2015 season hype video instead in hopes of creating some optimism.

I didn't create the hype video but hopefully who ever did is feeling lucky because the Brewers need it. You know your doing terrible when the Cubs are outplaying you. It's starting to feel like it will be a  long season. Hang in their Wisconsin sports fans  the NFL draft is coming soon. Can the Packers save Wisconsin sports ?

Versatility: The Spring Practice Word Of The Day.

Complex play calling isn't new to College Football and the Badger appear to be interested in the trend. Multiple stories online have mentioned players trying out different positions during spring practice. http://host.madison.com/sports/college/football/badgers-football-transfer-cornerback-serge-trezy-works-out-at-running/article_0e97ab27-11e2-576d-9649-de000c3df9bb.html. This trend became news because Wisconsin still has holes on both sides of the ball.

The traditional Big 10 ground and pound offense is repetitive. It worked for Ohio State but I don't think that it will work for the Badgers this season. Call me crazy but I think the Badgers should add a few wrinkles to their offense. Versatility will enhance Wisconsin's offense. Tanner McEvoy is the key to my theory. The Senior quarterback could end up playing multiple positions this year including Wide receiver.

Wisconsin's bread and butter has always been the running game. I don't think Serge Trezy will join the rich tradition. The former High School Running Back needs to learn how to play Cornerback. The injury bug has bitten the Badgers defense early. The only way to overcome the bug is by giving Trezy more defensive reps. Wisconsin is asking for consistency but insists on moving around the wrong players.

Local Competition: Packers Sign Wisconsin Born Quarterback

According to http://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/green-bay-packers-sign-uw-whitewater-qb-matt-blanchard-041515 The Packers just signed Wisconsin native Matt Blanchard. The quarterback has some NFL experience. He briefly played for the Chicago Bears, and the Carolina Panthers. I think that it will be interesting to see if he is able to make the practice squad.

The most exciting part about the offseason is following the chess moves. Blanchard could make a major impact on the teams potential postseason run you never know. Do you think that he will make a major impact ? I personally do.

The Brewers Suck: Why Blogging about Bad Teams Is So Difficult

The following post is going to be a rant. Yes you read the first sentence correctly a rant. If you don't want to be exposed please close this post immediately. I warned you.

Baseball is a unique sport filled with unique rules. At least 90% of the rules are outdated. This fact excites fans, and it makes life difficult for blogger like myself. I love blogging about sports. But I don't enjoy blogging about Baseball on consistent basis, unless the team is good. Before I continue I would like to point out that this post was created to express my frustration with the Brewers. I would also like to apologize in advance for the run on sentences.

People have complained that I become a fan of the teams I cover. I follow this controversial practice because covering a winning team is more enjoyable. Not everyone can be Bill Simmons. I suppose I could create consistent negative content. What's the fun in that ? Besides the internet is already overflowing with negativity. My point is I feel your pain Brewers fans. The team sucks and it's frustrating for fans and bloggers.

Will the Brewers finally win a regular season game ? Can Pittsburgh continue their momentum ? Will Ryan Braun save the season by hitting two home runs tonight ? Find out during tonights game. The game will be televised at 7:10 PM on  FSWI.

Skipping School: Sam Dekker Declares For The Draft.

Local superstar Sam Dekker is finally leaving Wisconsin. The small forward recently announced that he will be entering the 2015 NBA Draft.  I think Dekker skipped his senior year to avoid the rebuilding phase. It will be interesting to witness the future of Wisconsin Basketball.

Clean Sweep: My Reaction To The Brewers 0-3 Start.

Milwaukee was defeated by the Colorado Rockies last night. The good news is the score was close. Colorado won 5-4.  I'm extremely disappointed with the teams 0-3 start. Slow starts are typical in sports but losing three in a row at home is ridicules. Luckily their are still a million I mean 159 regular season games left.  Hopefully the Brewers can get their act together tomorrow night against the Pirates. A team that they have historically dominated.

My Two Reactions To Wisconsin Reaching The Title Game

2. Wisconsin outplayed Kentucky.

1. It's been a few years since the last Calipari recruiting violation.

Fox Sports.com mentioned his sketchy past in a 2014 article.

"He is the only coach in history to have Final Four appearances at two schools vacated for NCAA rules violations.:

The Two Day Countdown: Opening Day Is April 6th

I lost time amidst the recent hectic Wisconsin  sports news. Brewers Opening day is only two days away. Can you believe it ? Time flies when your favorite local teams are doing good.

They Passed: What If The Packers Didn't Draft Rodgers ?

Aaron Rodgers fell to the Packers in 2005 and the rest is history.  Green Bay could've drafted another superstar instead. Falcons wide receiver  Roddy White was selected two picks later.

How do you think Roddy White would've impacted the Packers future ?

Kentucky will put their 38 game winning streak on the line tomorrow night against Wisconsin. Can The Badgers redeem last seasons Final Four lost ? Will the undefeated Wildcats reach the title game ? Find out tomorrow night on TBS at 8:49 PM.

Trading Places: Brewers Trade Hunter Morris

The first baseman Hunter Morris was recently traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player later to be named. The news was first reported by the Milwaukee Sentinel Journal . I like the trade because Morris is injury prone . It will be interesting to see if the Brewers make any more trades before the season starts. You can read more about the trade here.

Seamus Malone: The Wisconsin Prospect all the Badgers Blogs Are Talking About

Bucky's 5th Quarter recently  broke down his latest accomplishments on their blog. http://www.buckys5thquarter.com/wisconsin-hockey-recruiting/2015/4/1/8317785/wisconsin-hockey-recruiting-seamus-malone      .

Countdown To Opening Day: Day 6

                                           Brewers trade for  C.C Sabathia

In 2008 the Milwaukee Brewers acquired  Cy Young award winning pitcher C.C Sabathia. Sabathia helped carry the team to their first playoff appearance since 1982. The former Brewer had multiple memorable performances including a one hitter on August 31 2008.

Shark Food ?: Rodgers Will Face Kevin Oleary in Celebrity Jeopardy

According to a recent Fox Sports Wisconsin article http://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/green-bay-packers-aaron-rodgers-to-appear-on-celebrity-jeopardy-in-may-040115 The Inaugural season of Celebrity Jeopardy will feature a unique matchup. Superstar Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will battle infamous Shark tank investor Kevin O'Leary in May. Add retired astronaut Mark Kelly to the mix and you have the recipe for a bizarre game show.
